Coach Eric Bass

Coach Bass holds a combined coaching and athletic career that can only be rivaled by few. He has successfully coached athletes in speed and strength training from the youth to professional levels. Many of his athletes have gone on to win national championships, Olympic medals, earned All-Pro status, gained NCAA and Hall of Fame Honors in professional football, and track and field, swimming, basketball and other sports.

As a high school athlete, Coach Bass played football and ran indoor and outdoor track for Central Bucks West High School located in Doylestown, PA. By the end of his junior football season, Bass was one of the most highly recruited running backs in the country. He chose and accepted a full athletic scholarship to Penn State University and played for Joe Paterno on two undefeated, nationally ranked teams. Bass is in the Central Bucks West High School Hall Of Fame for both athletic and coaching achievements.

His understanding of developing athletes of all ages and the art of excellence in coaching started early. As a young player, he was coached in a community that prided itself on teaching the right way to technically play sports, building a strong foundation in athletics. Under the tutelage of legendary coaches Mike Pettine, Sr. in football and Marty Stern in track & field, Bass experienced first hand the art of superior coaching. Later in his career, Bass served as an assistant coach to Stern at the college level and Pettine at the high school level and as co-director of summer football camps with coach Pettine. Stern was 6 times NCAA Coach of the Year at Villanova for track & field/cross country and Pettine is the winningest coach in Pennsylvania high school football history for the biggest schools.

Bass invented, developed and patented the Aqua Ark®, a conditioning and rehabilitation modality that revolutionized physical therapy and conditioning for both the athletic and medical arenas. Today this form of therapy can be found in every NFL training room and most major Universities, as well as numerous professional sports facilities and physical therapy centers. He is recognized and endorsed by coaches at all levels, as one of the foremost experts on strength and speed development for athletes and is a featured speaker at sports camps, colleges and clinics.

Among his many accomplishments was a six-year stint as a consultant to USA Track & Field from ’92 to ‘98, helped Senator Joe Biden in passing the Steroid Trafficking Act, helped train numerous athletes to world record performances and currently holds five Patents related to conditioning, rehabilitation and child safety.
